Norma Fay (Young) Ford, age 94, of Osage, died Sunday, April 4, 2010, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2010, at the United Church of Christ in Osage with Pastor Deborah Gage and Pastor Ruth Moerdyk officiating. Interment will be in the Orchard Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Norma was the second daughter of John Franklin and Sarah (Sonne) Young. She was born near Colwell, Iowa, on December 20, 1915. Norma graduated from Colwell High School in 1933. On April 17, 1941, she and H. Marion Ford were married in Cedar Falls, Iowa. They made their home on the Ford farm east of Orchard until they moved to Osage in 1985. She had resided at Augustana Regent Home in Burnsville, Minnesota, since November 2005, until moving to the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage in October 2009. Norma was a member of the United Church of Christ in Osage where she taught Sunday School and Bible School. She served as circle chairwoman, was on several church committees and was also a 4-H leader.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Dianne and her husband, Terrence Dunlay of Bloomington, Minnesota, and their three children and families, Beth and Jon Fasching and daughters, Lauren, Kendal and Jordan of Bloomington, Minnesota, Scott and Kara Dunlay and daughters, Kate and Sara of Greensboro, North Carolina, Ryan and Courtney Dunlay and sons, Nolan, Gavin and Caden of Chanhassen, Minnesota.
She is also survived by her son, Craig Ford and his wife, Jo of Suwanee, Georgia, and their three children and families, Michael and Lea Ford and children, Morlyn and Austin of Knoxville, Tennessee, Jarret and Rachel Ford and sons, Garrison and Cash of Sevierville, Tennessee, Susan and Jeff Blomstrom of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marion in 1987; a grandson, Eric Dunlay; a great-grandaughter, Payton Jo Blomstrom; two sisters, Helen Fredrick and Ethel Zimmerman; and an infant brother, Roy.
