WILLIAM MYRTLE OF
LITTLE CEDAR
CLAIMED BY DEATH

Body Taken to Old Home at Compton, Illinois for Burial.

William Myrtle died Sunday afternoon at the home of his son, G. W. Myrtle, near Little Cedar. The funeral was held at the home Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock and the Rev. J. F. Miller pastor of the Methodist churches in Stacyville and Little Cedar, had charge of the service. The body was taken to Compton, Illinois, by his son for burial.

William Myrtle was born December 15, 1852 in Philadelphia. When he was only a child of 9 years, both parents having died, he came west to Compton, Illinois, to make his home with relatives. He was married there, and in 1867, the mother of his four children died. Last October he came to Little Cedar to live with his son.

Mr. Myrtle was a good neighbor, and that expresses a world of kindness and a willingness to serve his fellow men whenever he was needed. He was upright and honest in all his dealings.

Surviving are his four children: L. Myrtle of Osage, G. W. Myrtle, and Mrs. Elmer Black of Little Cedar; John W. Myrtle of Rockford, and a foster son, Roy Archer of Compton, Illinois.

(May 3, 1928.)
