St. Ansgar Mayor Dies;
Funeral to Be Held Saturday

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — John F. Bernstein, 63, mayor of St. Ansgar for the last five years, died Tuesday night at his home here after an illness of a few weeks. He had been at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Mayor Bernstein was a hardware merchant here 35 years and a resident of St. Ansgar and vicinity most of his life.

Surviving are one brother, Bert, Gatski, Minnesota; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Nelson and Mrs. Adolph Mueller, St. Ansgar.

Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Saturday at the Methodist church, with Rev. W. F. Belling officiating.
