Funeral services for Mrs. Gus Gunderson, 65, who died at her home in St. Ansgar Thursday, February 28, 1952, were held at the home at 1:45 p.m. and at the First Lutheran church at 2 p.m. Monday, March 3, 1952 with the Rev. O.A. Langehough officiating.
Inga Amelia Westend Gunderson was born November 21, 1886 in Oslo, Norway, the daughter of Hans and Marie Westend. She was baptized in December 1886 at Vestre Akers church in Oslo and was confirmed September 29, 1901 at Jevnakers church in Hadeland.
On November 1, 1906 she was united in marriage to Carl Gustav Gunderson at Austin, Minnesota by Rev. Roseland. Two children were born to them; E. Harold of Osage and Marie Louise (Mrs. Harold Goodrich) of Omaha, Neb.
Mrs. Gunderson is survived by her husband, her two children and five grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother of Saskatchewan, Canada, one brother and two sisters in Norway, as well as several nieces and nephews. Among them is her niece, Mrs. Odell Haugen of Mona.
Mrs. Gunderson lived a very active life. She was a kind wife and a loving mother. She was stricken with a heart attack at Christmas time and later pneumonia complications weakened her condition. In spite of good medical care and the loving devotion of her family, she slept peacefully away at 1:10 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 1952 at her home.
Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Langehough in charge of committal services.
