Amy C. (Lack) Fairbrother -- October 26, 1872- May 24, 1959

OSAGE, IOWA – Funeral rites will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home for a former Orchard resident, Mrs. C. E. Fairbrother, 77, who died in an Albuquerque, New Mexico Hospital Wednesday. She had suffered a fall and attack of the flu. Burial will be in the Orchard Cemetery.

She was born October 26, 1872, as Amy Lack, near Rockford, Illinois and came to east of Orchard as a small child. She lived there for many years, moving later with brothers to Orchard. She married in 1924 in Albuquerque where she had since resided. She leaves her husband, several nieces and nephews in the Orchard, Osage and Charles City area.

Preceding her were three brothers; Harry; William; and Horatio; and three sisters; Mrs. Jennie Townsend; Mrs. Ada Faulkner; and Miss Nellie Lack. Waterloo Courier, Friday May 26, 1950

Former Resident of Orchard Dies

Osage, Iowa — Funeral services Mrs. C. E. Fairbrother, 77, former Orchard resident, will be held Sunday at 2 p. m. at the Champion Funeral Home, the Rev. Donald Bourne officiating. Burial in the Orchard Cemetery. She died at an Albuquerque, New Mexico, hospital Wednesday.

Mrs. Fairbrother was born in Illinois and came to a farm east of Orchard when a small child. She lived there for many years, later moving with her brothers to Orchard. She was married in 1924 and moved to Albuquerque. Her husband is the only survivor.
