Funeral services for Ennert C. Groth, 76, Minneapolis, Minn., who died July 15, 1984 at his home were held Wednesday, July 18, 1984 at the Nokomis Heights Lutheran church, Minneapolis, with the Rev. Jerry O'Neill officiating. Graveside services were held at First Lutheran cemetery in St. Ansgar at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 with Rev. O'Neill officiating.

Ennert C. Groth was born July 2, 1908 in St. Ansgar, the son of Tom and Emma Wrolstad Groth. He was baptized July 26, 1908 and confirmed September 10, 1923 at First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar. He spent his early life in St. Ansgar.

May 28, 1926 Ennert graduated from St. Ansgar high school and that fall enrolled at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, graduating from the University June 9, 1930. He married Gertrude D. Stoddard July 27, 1934 at Kenyon, Minn. They were parents of two sons, Thomas A. and Charles E. Gertrude Groth died January 9, 1968. June 12, 1970 Ennert married Evelyn Campbell Newman. Mr. Groth retired in May, 1973. He was a 35 year employee of the Land of Lakes Co. of Minneapolis.

Mr. Groth is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two sons, Thomas A. of Minneapolis and Charles E. of Richfield, Minn.; two step sons, Jerome R. Newman and James L. Newman; seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Alice Highum of Mantorville, Minn.; relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Gertrude.
