Funeral services for Mrs. Martha P. Golberg, 88, of St. Ansgar, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage, May 26, 1976, were held May 28, 1976 at the Schroeder & Dunn Funeral Home here with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad, pastor of First Lutheran church, officiating.

Martha Pauline Golberg was born December 19, 1887 in Adams county, Wis. the daughter of Gunda and Bennie Skarderude. She was baptized in infancy, and at the age of five moved to Rockford, Wash. Mrs. Golberg was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Rockford.

June 5, 1906 she married Cornelius N. Golberg of Carpenter. They came to Iowa to establish their home. One daughter, Mrs. Gilbert (Grace) Anderson of Sargeant, Minn. was born to them. Mrs. Golberg was a devoted homemaker and mother, and found much joy in flowers and her culinary art. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius, September 10, 1954 and one granddaughter, Roberta.

Mrs. Golberg is survived by her daughter, Grace; six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Burial was in the First Lutheran church with Rev. Engelstad in charge of committal services.
