Funeral services were held Thursday, June 21, 2001 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, for Gregor Loecher, age 95, of Osage. Father Philip Recker officiated and interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage. Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage, in charge of arrangements.
He died Monday, June 18, 2001 at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.
Gregor was born December 15, 1905 at Stacyville the son of Mathias and Mary (Weber) Loecher. He attended school in Stacyville. Gregor was united in marriage to Rosella Theobald on Jan. 7, 1931 in Stacyville. The couple farmed in the Stacyville area until 1967 when they retired and moved to Osage.
Rosella died on Dec. 20, 1986. In 1990, Gregor moved to the Manor in Mason City and he has resided in the Stacyville Community Nursing Home for the past five years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbia. He was formerly active in the Osage Senior Citizens where he assisted with Blood drives and Meals On Wheels and other senior activities. After retiring Gregor enjoyed gardening, fishing, square dancing, playing 500 and playing pool.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Rosella in 1986; three brothers, John, Aloyius, Paul; one sister, Mathilda Mayer.
Those that survive him include his daughter, Darlene Schneider and her husband, Clem of Mason City and their children; Karen Vitale and her husband, Domenic of River Falls, WI and their children, Matthew and Sarah; Mark Schneider and his wife, Michelle of Georgetown, TX and and their daughter, Kieran; and Sharon Luehrs and her husband, Jeffrey of Apple Valley, MN and their son, Nathan; one sister, Isabelle Theobald of Sheboygan Falls, WI; one sister-in-law, Louise Wolf and her husband, Ray of Austin, MN; several nieces and nephews.

OSAGE, IOWA - Gregor Loecher, 95, of Osage, died Monday (June 18, 2001) at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home in Stacyville.
Gregor was born Dec. 15, 1905, at Stacyville, the son of Mathias and Mary (Weber) Loecher. He attended school in Stacyville.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with Father Philip Recker officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Osage.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with a 7 p.m. rosary.
