Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda M. Fossey, 72, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital Sunday, March 11, 1973 were held Tuesday, March 13, 1973 at the First Lutheran church here with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating.

Amanda Melissa Nelson, the daughter of Amelia Jacobson and Martin Nelson, was born February 23, 1901 in Nevada township, Mower county, Minn. She was baptized and confirmed in Six Mile Grove Lutheran church, Lyle. She attended Nelson rural school in Nevada township and was graduated from Lyle high school.

On June 4, 1924 she was united in marriage to Alf O. Fossey at Adams, Minn. Three sons were born to them. They farmed in various places in Mitchell county area, and she had made her home in St. Ansgar the past four years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar.

Mrs. Fossey is survived by her three sons, Darwin and Wayne of St. Ansgar and Merlin of Austin; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. William (Lila) Klusmeier of Rose Creek, Minn. three brothers, Elmer Nelson of Austin, Alfred Nelson of Rose Creek, and Raymond Nelson of Austin; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters and two brothers. Burial was in First Lutheran cemetery here with the Rev. Engelstad in charge of committal services.
