PIONEER OSAGE RESIDENT DIES

John McSweeney Rites Will Be Held Thursday

OSAGE, IOWA -- John McSweeney, 86, a resident of this community for almost 62 years, died at his home in Osage Tuesday. He farmed until 1916 when he retired and moved to Osage.

Mr. and Mrs. McSweeney celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on September 23, 1945, and only last week (June 26) he celebrated his 86th birthday.

Surviving are his wife and 2 sons, John and Stewart, of Osage. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart church, the Rev. George Stern officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
