OSAGE, IOWA - Patricia McSweeney, 13, died Tuesday at the parental Stewart McSweeney home 10 miles northwest of Osage, of a brain tumor and complications; funeral, Thursday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart church; burial in the Sacred Heart cemetery; Rosary is to be at the parental home Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Patricia was born August 1, 1933, on a farm near Little Cedar, daughter of Stewart and Lottie (McGrane) McSweeney; at the age of three she moved with her parents to Osage, moving after a five year period to the present farm. She was the youngest of the family.

She leaves parents, three brothers, Roland, Mitchell; Robert and Richard, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Devereaux, Waseca, Minn.; Mrs. Wayne Canny, Osage; and Mrs. Al Schmidt, at home; and her grandmothers, Mrs. Mary McGrane and Mrs. John McSweeney, Sr. both of Osage.

Patricia received the distinction of being the first person to be personally blessed by Bishop E. A. Fitzgerald as his first officiat act, following his ordinatin in Osage, last fall.
Following the special services at Sacred Heart church, Bishop Fitzgerald went to the bedside of little Patricia and gave her his blessing.
