MRS. HARTLEY LEE PENNEY

Mabel Caroline Penney, 96, died February 19, 1998 at Faith Home in Osage. She was born October 23, 1902 west of Mona in Mitchell County, Iowa, the daughter of Oliver and Anna (Gunderson) Larson.

She married Hartley Lee Penney at Mona Lutheran Church on June 14, 1928. Hartley and Mabel brought the Sam Penney home on north seventh street in Osage where they lived for many years. Hartley and his brother Earl formed a automobile wholesale parts and tire repair business patterns.

Hartley and Mabel became parents of one son, David Lee, who passed away at the age of six months. In 1943 they adopted Richard 7½ and Ann 5½. Hartley and Mabel brought the Sam Penney home on north seventh street in Osage where they lived for many years.

Mabel was preceded in death by her husband in May 1965, her parents, infant son David, a daughter Ann Flynn in 1971, a son Richard in 1993, one brother Orven Arthur Larson, three sisters, Lillian Gunderson, Irene Stromley, and Lulu Hiner.

She is survived by six grandchildren, David, Deanna, Steve, Renae, Michael and Leah.

Burial is at Osage Cemetery.
