Ray Markham Dies at Osage;
Rites Thursday

OSAGE, IOWA -- Ray Markham, 80, died at his home Tuesday following a long illness. Funeral services are tentatively planned for Thursday with burial in the Osage Cemetery.

Born April 5, 1880 in Mitchell County, east of Osage, he was the son of William and Jennie Markham. He was married in 1902 to Maude Hadfield. They lived near Osage until retiring in 1947. He was a former Mitchell County supervisor.

Surviving are his wife, a son, Luvern, a daughter, Miss Allene Markham, Osage teacher, and a grandson, all of Osage; a brother, John, Lyle Minnesota, and a sister, Mrs. George Bush, Anthony, Kansas.
