Osage, Iowa -- Funeral rites for a former Osage resident, Kennedy Scott, 88, were January 24, at Weslaco, Texas. Burial was at Weslaco.

Born November 9, 1859, son of Joseph and Mary Harris Scott, at Rio, Wisconsin; as a child came with his parents to Mitchell County. He grew to manhood in Stacyville; was rural instructed, then was graduated from a Charles City business college. He staked a claim at Ellendale, North Dakota, later selling it and returning to Stacyville, and entered a business partnership with his brother-in-law.

He married Minnie E. Bundy, daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. A.D. Bundy, St. Ansgar in 1890. The couple resided in Stacyville and he served as Mitchell County treasure for four years, then as cashier for a Stacyville bank for 20 years, coming to Osage in 1919. They moved to Texas in 1937.

He leaves his wife at Weslaco; two daughters, Mrs. George S. Merwin, Kansas City, Missouri, and Mrs. W. L. Kidwell, Weslaco, and two grandchildren.

Preceding him in death was a sister, Mrs. Mina Smith.
