Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 19, 1986, at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage for Donald T. Hutzell, 73, of Twin Lakes, Minnesota, and formerly of Mitchell county. Mr. Hutzell died on Friday, August 15, 1986 at a Northwood nursing home. Rev. Gary Gonnerman, pastor of St. Ansgar Baptist Church officiated and burial was in the Osage cemetery.

Donald Hutzell was born on March 4, 1913 at Ft. Collins, Colorado, to Jim and Glee (Nicholas) Hutzell. He moved to Iowa with his parents and attended Rock Falls schools.

On March 29, 1934, he married Ruth Nodland at Northwood. They farmed in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, and then moved to Mitchell County in 1948. Later they moved to St. Ansgar and then to Bancroft where he was employed by Welps Hatchery. They moved to Twin Lakes in 1979 where he lived until his recent move to the nursing home in Northwood.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth of St. Ansgar; three daughters, Mrs. Dean (Phyllis) Gunsallus of Osage, Shirley Scueder of Twin Lakes, Minnesota, and Mrs. Frank (Barbara) Carter of Yankton, South Dakota; four sons, Donald and James, both of Mason City, Curtis of Atlanta, Georgia, and Ronald of Topeka, Kansas. Three sisters, Virginia Calvert of Salinas, California, Maxine Dunton of Rockwell and Gean Morris of Clear Lake; two brothers, Howard of Moorhead and Robert of Hillsboro, Oregon; 31 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
