OBITUARY: Robert W. Hemann, 1926-2002

Funeral services were held for Robert W. Hemann, age 76, of Osage on Monday, December 16, 2002 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. Reverend Philip Recker officiated. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery with Military Honors by the V.F.W. Post 7920. He died at Faith Home in Osage on Thursday, December 12, 2002.

Robert was born September 8, 1926 in McIntire, the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Smith) Hemann. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Meyer. He served with the Army of Occupation in Italy from 1945 to 1947.

Robert married Norraine Weisensel at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville on August 24, 1949. He worked various jobs including 19 years at Oliver/White Farm in Charles City. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, V.F.W. and Knights of Columbus.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother Cletus.

Robert is survived by his wife Norraine Hemann of Osage, two daughters, Carol Hansen and her husband Wayne of Danube, MN, Sandy Hemann of Burnsville, MN, three step-grandchildren, Brett, Rachel and Kyle, four step-great-grandchildren, four brothers, Raymond Hemann (Beatrice) of Adams, MN, John Hemann (Joan) of Saratoga, Art Hemann (Darlene) of Osage and Kenneth Hemann (Ann) of St. Ansgar, three sisters, Sister Mary Kenneth, OSF of Okalona, MS, Angela Werner (Herb) of Osage and Theresa Theis (George) of Plymouth, three sisters-in law, Kathleen Hemann of Osage, Della Attig (Dale) of Austin, MN. Sister Catherine Weisensel, OSF of Dubuque, two brothers-in-law, Jim Larson of Albert Lea, MN and Marvin Weisensel (Joan) of Racine, WI, many nieces and nephews.

OSAGE, IOWA - Robert W. Hemann, 76, of Osage, died Thursday (Dec. 12, 2002) at the Faith Home in Osage.

Robert was born Sept. 8, 1926, in McIntire, the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Smith) Hemann. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Meyer.

He served with the Army of Occupation in Italy from 1945 to 1947.

Robert married Norraine Weisensel at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville on Aug. 24, 1949.

He worked various jobs, including 19 years at Oliver/White Farm in Charles City.

Robert was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, the V.F.W., and Knights of Columbus.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with the Rev. Philip Recker officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery with military honors by the V.F.W. Post 7920.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a Scripture service at 4 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Rosary to follow.
