Funeral services for Hertha Fleischer, 91, of Winterset, Iowa, formerly of St. Ansgar, who died Monday, December 1, 1997, at Madison County Memorial Hospital, Winterset, were held Saturday, December 6 at First Lutheran Church here with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating.
Hertha was born at Myrtle, Minnesota, November 11, 1906, to Paul and Martha (Behl) Fleischer.
Hertha's parents died when she was quite young and her brothers and sisters were sent to the Lutheran Orphanage in Waverly, where they stayed until adults. Hertha worked in Des Moines before moving to Oak Park, Illinois. She was employed by the Federal Railroad Retirement Board for over 20 years as a switchboard operator, retiring in 1972. She moved to Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, to St. Ansgar, and later to Austin, Minneosta. She moved to Winterset to the Country Haven Retirement Home.
Hertha is survived by three nieces, three nephews, several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Adella and Lila; three brothers, Alfred, Leonard and Maynard; one great nephew.
Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.
Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements.

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA-- Hertha Fleishcer, age 91, of Winterset, Iowa, and formerly of St. Ansgar, died on Monday December 1, 1997, at Madison County Memorial Hospital, following a long illness.
Funeral services will be on Saturday at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery south of St. Ansgar.
