OSAGE, IOWA - Eunice Y. Anderson, age 81, of Osage died Friday (Feb. 5, 2010) at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage with the Rev. Dennis Hanson and the Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Eunice was born on October 12, 1928, in Osage, the daughter of M.R. "Ralph" and Hedwig "Hattie" (Gemaehlich) Lorenz. Eunice graduated from Osage High School in 1946.

She married Kenneth L. Anderson on Sept. 21, 1947, in Osage. She and Kenneth farmed west of Osage for many years. In 1967, they moved off the farm to Clear Lake, where she worked at the Corner Drug. Later they moved to Klemme, where she worked as a veterinary assistant. After Eunice and Kenneth retired, they came back to Osage.

Eunice was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to play cards with her card club for more than 40 years. She also enjoyed traveling, golfing and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Eunice is survived by her husband, Kenneth Anderson, of Osage; her children, Linda Hughes of Charles City, Tom Anderson and fiancée, Peggy Bigelow, of Clear Lake; grandchildren, Bryan (Emily) Hughes and their son, Daxton, of Norwalk, Megan Hughes of Ankeny; sisters, Lois (Richard) Moran of Roscommon, Mich., and Jan (John) Miller of Sun City West, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
