Rites Held for Miss Orvald

Funeral services for Margrethe Orvald, daughter of John and Alice Orvald were held at 4:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon with the Reverend O. A. Langehough in charge. Interment was in First Lutheran Cemetery.

Miss Orvald was born July 17, 1851 in Sogndal, Norway. She was baptized in infancy and confirmed in July _____ by Reverend Edkhof. In August 1881 she immigrated to America with her sister Anna. They came directly to St. Ansgar where they made their home with their only brother, Ole Orvold. Her sister, Anna passed away in 1900 after years of poor health during which Margrethe cared for her.

She has worked as a maid in many homes in St. Ansgar and was the housekeeper for the late John Dermody from 1902 to 1935. Because of failing health and eye sight, she was admitted to an Old People's Home in Minneapolis in September 1935 where she remained until her death Thursday, the 29th of April, at 4:15 a.m.

Her parents and sister have all preceded her in death.
