VERLA A. KINDSCHUH

MASON CITY - Verla A. Kindschuh, 75, of 360 Yorktown Pike, died Thursday (April 29, 1999) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mason City, with the Rev. Frederick J. Wood officiating. Interment will be in Little Cedar Cemetery, Little Cedar, Iowa.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, or one hour prior to the services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Verla A. Kindschuh Memorial Fund.

Verla was born April 10, 1924, in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, the daughter of Wright and Dora (Grose) Julius. At age 13 Verla's family moved to Little Cedar, Iowa, where she later graduated from high school.

She married Paul W. Kindschuh on Nov. 10, 1941, at St. Ansgar, Iowa. Verla worked for the U. S. Postal Department for 21 years. She retired June 30, 1991, as Postmaster for the Stacyville Post office. She moved to Mason City in 1993.

Verla was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two sons, Dennis Kindschuh and his wife, Becky, and Allen Kindschuh, both of Mason City; daughter-in-law, Bridget Kindschuh True of Mason City; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lee Julius and his wife, Delia, of Mason City, and Larry Julius and his wife, Ruth, of Riceville; three sisters, Joanne Thome and her husband, Clarence, of Charles City, Alta Counsell and her husband, Bob, of Little Cedar, and Janice Canny and her husband, Clair, of Lake Mills; and a brother-in-law, Dean Kindschuh and his wife, Dorothy, of Osage.

Verla was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Charlene; a son, Kim; and a granddaughter, Vickie.
