OBITUARY: Regina (Schwandt) Hobkirk, 1888-1917,

The community was shocked Sunday morning by the news that Mrs. Henry Hobkirk of Zimmerman, Minnesota had passed away at the home of her mother, Mrs. M. Schwandt, where she was spending the holidays, having arrived December 21. Mrs. Hobkirk had been in poor health for some time but was able to be about and was visiting at the Peterman home, north of town when she was taken suddenly ill, Saturday morning. It was at once realized that her condition was critical and during the afternoon she was taken to the home of her mother where she passed away at 10 o'clock P.M. Mr. Hobkirk was unable to reach Lyle until Sunday noon.

Regina Schwandt was born on February 2, 1888 and on Dec. 1, 1908 was united in marriage to Henry Hobkirk, who with three children, aged 3 to 7 yrs., are left to mourn her sudden demise. Besides the mother, she is also survived by five sisters and one brother: Mrs. Joe Schultz of Wichita, Kansas, Mrs. Jacob Clausen of Stacyville, Iowa, Mrs. Frank Markow of Pretty Rock, North Dakota, and Misses Kate and Lucille, and August at home.

The deceased was born and reared in this community, where she lived until July 1, 1915, when the family moved to Zimmerman, Minn. The many friends extend sympathy to the sorrowing family who have been called to lay away their loved one.

The funeral service was held at 1 P.M. from the Schwandt home and 2 at Lyle Lutheran Church Wednesday. Internment was made in Woodbury Cemetery, rural Lyle, Minnesota, with Rev. Moe officiating.
