CARPENTER, IOWA -- Services for Leland Ellingson, 73, who died Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, were held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, at Deer Creek Lutheran Church in Carpenter; burial in the First Lutheran Cemetery in St. Ansgar.
Survivors include his wife, Irene; two brothers, Walter of Northwood, and Glenn of Wayne, Nebraska; two daughters, Mrs. Rudolph Aase of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Mrs. Rorry Rice of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Schroeder and Dunn Funeral Home in St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.

Item #2 of 3 items:Funeral services for Leland B. Ellingson, 73, of rural Lyle, who died November 16, 1978 at St. Mary's hospital, Rochester, Minn., were held November 20 at Deer Creek Lutheran church, Carpenter, with the Rev. Ervin C. Franke officiating.
Leland Burton Ellingson, son of Gunder and Barbara (Thorson) Ellingson, was born September 14, 1905 on a farm in Barton township, Worth county. He was baptized December 24, 1905 by the Rev. M.E. Waldeland. He received his education at a rural school and Carpenter high school. He was confirmed December 26, 1919 by the Rev. Waldeland.
March 21, 1937 he married Irene Feldt in a ceremony at First Lutheran church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Olaf A. Langehough officiating. They lived on the Ellingson home farm, where he farmed until he semi-retired in 1971. They moved to an acreage near Lyle where he continued a smaller farming operation. He enjoyed good health until his recent illness when he entered the hospital October 24.
Mr. Ellingson was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Gilmore, Benford and Victor; two sisters, Arlene and Buehlah.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; two brothers, Walter of Northwood and Glen of Wayne, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Rudolph (Grace) Aase of Port Charlotte, Fla. and Lorry Rice of Cincinnati, Ohio; 37 nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Burial was in First Lutheran cemetery in St. Ansgar with Rev. Franke in charge of the committal services.
