Funeral rites will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home for a former longtime resident, Edward Peterson, age 77. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.

He died a week ago Saturday at Long Beach, California, having been hospitalized for a month.

He was born on a farm seven miles southwest of Osage. He married Alice Chambers of Mitchell, who preceded him in death
