ST. ANSGAR, IOWA, Aug. 14. — Funeral services for Mrs. Frederich Pagel, 81, were held Sunday afternoon at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Rev. Brammer officiating. Burial was made in the German cemetery.

Mrs. Pagel was born at Borkenhagen on Nov. 16, 1852, at Rodun, Province of Pomerania. Her mother died when she was ten. In 1868 she came to this country with her father and stepmother and settled at Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

On April 23, 1871, she was married to Frederick Pagel and came to a farm seven miles southwest of St. Ansgar. In 1921 they retired and moved to town.

She was the mother of 11 children, 2 having died. Her husband died on Feb. 1, 1931.

She is survived by five sons, four daughters, 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one sister.
