Funeral services for Clarence F. Hinsman, 69, who died at his farm home, rural Mitchell, August 31, were held September 2, 1977 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock township, with the Rev. Richard Zellmer officiating.
Clarence Fred Hinsman was born July 28, 1908 in rural Plymouth, the youngest son Henry and Hulda (Kirchgatter) Hinsman.
He was baptized at St. John's Lutheran August 16, 1908, and confirmed there March 25, 1923 by the Rev. Gerhard Gemaehlich.
November 28, 1933 he married Laura Wilde, and two children were born to them. In addition, a grandnephew, Lee Marreel, made his home with them for several years.
The Hinsmans farmed fulltime on the farm where he had lived since the age of two, until a few years ago, and moved to Osage in February of this year.
Mr. Hinsman is survived by his wife, Laura; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Ruby) Hesterberg of LeCenter, Minnesota; a son, Darrell of near Grafton; a sister, Mrs. Lydia Borchardt of Mason City; five grandchildren: Timothy at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota; Doris at Luther College, Decorah; John, Luther and Judith Hesterberg; Lee and family of Sequin, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Burial was in St. John's Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Zellmer in charge of the committal service
