Mrs. E.E. Clausen, whose death was spoken of in last weeks Enterprise was born at Helsingborg, Sweden in 1835 and died at St. Ansgar, Iowa, April 22, 1902, age 67 years.
In 1852 at the age of 15 she emigrated to Denmark and in 1857 was united in marriage to C.M. Clausen who survives her.
Eight children were born to them in Denmark, all of whom survive. In 1871 the family emigrated to America settling at St. Ansgar, Iowa. She has remained here ever since. Three children were born to them since coming to America but these have all preceded her to the final home of all.
There remains to mourn her loss her husband and eight children. These are Axel J., Caroline and Christian, of St. Ansgar. Alfred and Fred of White Rock, S. Dak, Nels who is now at San Jose, Costo Rico, Central America; Josephene and Amelia of Harvey, North Dakota. Mrs. Clausen was afflicted with poor health for many years but her last illness was brief. She had a severe attack of catarrh of the stomach, but it was a stroke of appoplexy coming shortly before her death which proved so speedily fatal.
The funeral was conducted at the home by Rev. J. Olsen at one o'clock Thursday, April 24, and her remains were laid to rest in the family lot in the Norwegian Lutheran cemetery** in St. Ansgar.

** Note: This might be an error since she was not found on a list of the First Lutheran Cemetery, but was found on a list for the St. Ansgar City Cemetery.
