Funeral services for Arnold H. Wold, 66, of Rolfe, who died March 19, 1977, were held March 22 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Rolfe with the Reverend James W. Asp officiating.

Arnold H. Wold was born August 22, 1910 in Velva, North Dakota, the son of Andrew T. and Margaret (Halverson) Wold. He was baptized in the Lutheran church in Velva. When he was eight years old the family moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota. Two years later they moved to St. Ansgar where he received his education and graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1930. . In 1924 he was confirmed at First Luteheran church in St. Ansgar by the Reverend M. E. Waldeland. Following graduation from high school he worked and served his apprenticeship at Rosel Hardware here. In April of 1940 he bought out the Symes Hardware in Rolfe which he owned and operated until his retirement in July 1976.

June 8, 1941 he married ViEtta Alftine at First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar. In October 1942 he joined the U.S. Navy attached to the Sea Bees where he served until September 1945. He was a member of the Cecil Cumming Post of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Chamber of Commerce and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Rolfe.

Mr. Wold is survived by his wife, ViEtta; nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wold of St. Ansgar, niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Dean (Karen) Ketelson of Osage; nine adopted grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Waldo. Burial was in First Lutheran Cemetery in St. Ansgar with military honors by Walter T. Enneberg Post. No. 358 of the American Legion.
