Albert Palmer Bakkum was born on March 21, 1906, at Meltonville, Iowa. He was baptized at the Deer Creek Lutheran church by Rev. M.E. Waldeland and was confirmed on October 24, 1920, at the First Lutheran church at St. Ansgar by Rev. Waldeland.
Albert complained of not feeling well at times while he was working on the new dam at Mitchell, his home, and was taken seriously ill on March 21, with flu pneumonia which caused his death on his 19th birthday, March 21, 1925.
Albert is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Bakkum; two sister, Anna Mary and Mrs. Nels Boa; five brothers, Bennie, Johnny, Gerhardt, Clarence and Glen, all of Mitchell, and a large number of relatives and friends.
The children of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Anderson, cousins of the deceased, gave a memorial wreath of three dollars to be given to Missions.
