OSAGE, IOWA — Funeral services for Mrs. Charles J. Biederman, 46, who died Monday, will be at the St. Ansgar Lutheran church at 2 p. m. Wednesday. Burial** will be in the First St. Ansgar Lutheran cemetery.

She was born Olena Moen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Moen, on November 3, 1894, at Carpenter, Iowa. She is a graduate of Cedar Valley Seminary and Iowa State Teachers college, and attended University of Iowa. Olene taught music in a Des Moines school for 15 years.

She was married to Charles J. Biederman in June 1936.

She leaves her husband; daughter, Mary Elizabeth; and her aged parents.

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Charles J. Biederman, age 47, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Lutheran church and at 1:30 at the Charles Biederman farm home south west of St. Ansgar. Rev. O.A. Langehough was in charge of the services. Interment was in the First Lutheran Cemetery.

"The inner side of every cloud is bright and shining. I therefore turn my clouds about and always wear them inside out to show the lining"

So might one epitomize the everyday philosophy of Olene Moen Biederman, born November 4, 1894, near Carpenter, Iowa, the fifth child of Ole O. and Rose K. Moen.

Her early education began in a rural school in Worth county, followed by graduation from the Cedar Valley Seminary, Osage, Iowa. To fit her for her chosen profession, teaching, she took two years at Iowa State Teachers' college at Cedar Falls, Iowa, which was followed with further work at the State University of Iowa and Drake University at Des Moines.

She enjoyed her teaching career, first at Iowa Falls, then at Clear Lake, and for a period of fourteen years in Des Moines, with music, the subject closest to her heart, in predominance.

While in Des Moines, she affiliated with the Central Lutheran church, and used the talent given her to good advantage. Her participation was faithful in directing the choir; in L.D.R. work and as a soloist. She responded to many demands to sing at funerals.

On June 8, 1935 she was united in marriage to Charles John Biederman, to which short-lived union was born one child, Mary Elizabeth. For nearly a year following her marriage she resided near Hanlontown, thereafter moving to a community south of St. Ansgar, which soon grew to be very dear to her. Her continued participation in community activities was not in the Maker's plan, however, for on December 26, 1940, she submitted to clinical examination, resulting in an operation, futile in its attempt.

She went to rest, peacefully and willingly, at the home of her eldest niece, Rena Jean Tesch, Osage, at 10 o'clock, Monday, April 21. Anxious to be received by her Father, she made every essential preparation. Ever faithful and kind, she knew and firmly believed what she had often sung:

"In my Father's house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know."

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband and young daughter, Mary Elizabeth, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. O.O. Moen of Carpenter, three brothers, Ole and Alvin of Carpenter and Floyd of Osage, three sisters, Mrs. Anton Nelson of St. Ansgar, Mrs. Lawrence Ask of Mitchell and Mrs. John H. Olson of Des Moines, besides a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
