Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at 1:45 at the home and 2:00 at the First Lutheran church for Nels A. Borsheim. The services were in charge of the Rev. Olaf A. Langehough. Joan Halverson sang two solos, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Lead Kindly Light." Burial was in the Riverview cemetery.
Nels Anton Borsheim, son of Torkel and Brita Hylden Borsheim, was born near St. Ansgar, Iowa, January 2, 1867 and passed away at his home in St. Ansgar, November 18, 1946 at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 16 days.
He was baptized by Rev. Clausen, confirmed by the Rev. J. Olson, and had always been a member of the First Lutheran church.
After finishing the rural school he attended St. Ansgar Seminary for two years, after which he operated his father's farm.
He was married to Anna C. Anderson of Northwood, Iowa on September 1, 1901.
The deceased had spent all of his life on the Borsheim farm with the exception of five years in Thief River Falls, Minn., and five years in Charles City, Iowa. When his health failed in 1942 he moved with his family to St. Ansgar where he has since resided.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Anna; his daughter, Myrtle, of Seattle, Wash., and two brothers, Ole of Owatonna, and Hans of Cedar Falls.
The pallbearers were Anton Nelson, Marius Gerding, Carl Dieterich, John Tollefson, Melvin and Selmer Sponheim.
Those from out of town who attended the services were Myrtle Borsheim, Seattle, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. Ole Borsheim, Owatonna, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Hans Borsheim, Cedar Falls, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Preston and Lawrence, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hanson, Mr. and Mrs. Barney Logeman and Mrs. Lars Aurdahl, all of Northwood. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Loterbour of Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. Anton Nelson, Mrs. S.E. Tesch, Mrs. Ren Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Paulson and Clarice, all of Osage.
