OSAGE, IOWA — Services for Mrs. Caroline Wamstad, 91, of Osage, will be 2 p.m. tomorrow at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Osage, with burial in Rock Creek Cemetery. Services previously scheduled for yesterday were postponed because of inclement weather.

She died Thursday at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.

Caroline Enger (Iverson or Gilbertson) was born March 4, 1883 to Ragnild Enger (1856-1901) and unknown father at Mitchell County, Iowa.

Found in the 1885 & 1895 censuses living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1885: Thrond Hegg 62, Anna Hegg 75, Rangild Enger 26 and Caroline Enger age 2.
1895: Caroline Gilbertson age 12.

Caroline was confirmed at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church on June 13, 1897 at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her mother, Ragnild Enger, married Gulbrand Iverson on January 16, 1889 at Rock Creek Lutheran Church (RCLC), Meroa, Iowa.

Found in the 1900 census on a farm at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: (stepfather using the surname Gilbertson, he also used the name Gulbrand Iverson): Gulbrand Gilbertson 54, Rangnild Gilbertson 43, Karoline Gilbertson 16, Oliver Gilbertson 10. Peder F Gilbertson 7, Gilbert O Gilbertson 5, Karl R Gilbertson 2, Ole Gilbertson 49.

Caroline married Lars Torstensen Wamstad (Hvamstad) on December 16, 1906 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had 4 children (all born in Cedar township, MItchell County, Iowa):
Ethel Theresse (April 25, 1908 - April 22, 1997 Mitchell, Iowa);
Clifford Edmond (January 7, 1910 - November 6, 1965 New Orleans, Louisiana);
Georgia Rosella (September 4, 1912 - July 14, 1987 Iowa);
Tennes Franklin (February 5, 1916 - April 20, 1926 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa).
