OSAGE, IOWA - Robert L. Mork, age 72, of Osage, passed away Saturday (Dec. 19, 2009) at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals in Madison, Wisconsin.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Private family burial will be at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in New Haven.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Robert was born on March 9, 1937, in Osage, to Robert and Vivian (Brunner) Mork.

He was united in marriage to Carolyn Johnson on Nov. 9, 1962, in Davenport, Iowa. Robert played softball for over 30 years and was at his best when he played for Harvester Club in Rock Island, Ill. On June 27, 2003, Bob received a lung transplant from Michelle Mathes. We are forever grateful for the six and one half years he was given with us because of the transplant. Bob valued his time and spent as much time with his loved ones as he could, especially his little angel, Cassidy. He donated his organs to the transplant program for their research to help future transplant recipients.

Robert enjoyed fishing, golfing and was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs. Robert enjoyed and loved his family most of all.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Mork of Osage; three children, David (Tonya) Mork of Maryville, Tenn., Cynthia (Larry) Billings of Eldridge, Debbie (Kenny) Boge of Orchard; 13 grandchildren, Chris, Jackie, Joshua, Jessica, Tiffani, Tabatha, Brittani, Ryan, Karl, Jason, Colton, Tyson and Cassidy; 11 great-grandchildren, Genesis, Clayton, Marissa, Trinity, Ashley, Krista, Katlyn, Christopher, Jazmine, Alvin and Ethan; two sisters, Nadine Mork, of New Haven; Susan Schwab, of Osage; a brother, Gary, (Marilyn) Mork of Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-law, Violet Mork and Rose Johnson; and brother-in-law, Bill Johnson.
