Funeral services were held Friday, June 15 [1984] at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar with burial at St. Ansgar Cemetery, Reverend Thomas Woodin of the United Methodist Church, Cresco, officiated.

Loretta R. Toothill was born February 11, 1887 in St. Ansgar to Peter and Marie Areson Christensen. She attended area schools. She married and lived in Waterloo for several years.

After the death of her husband she moved to Chula Vista, California where she was employed as a seamstress. Loretta married John Toothill and after his death April 15, 1953, she moved to Pasadena, California to live with her sister, where she lived for a number of years. In 1964 she moved back to St. Ansgar for one year. She then moved to Waterloo and lived with her niece, Loretta Hunter. After the death of her niece she moved to Janesville, Wisconsin in January of 1984 and resided in a nursing home there. Loretta died in Janesville June 10, 1984.

She was peceded in death by her parents, both husbands, three brothers and six sisters.

She is survived by two nephews, Gordon Christensen of Janesville, Wisconsin and Clarence Enneberg of Austin, Minnesota.
