LITTLE CEDAR, IOWA - Vera Jean Boerjan, age 74, of Little Cedar, died Friday (Dec. 11, 2009) at the Clarinda Regional Health Center in Clarinda.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with the Rev. Peter Chang officiating. Burial will be at the Little Cedar Cemetery in Little Cedar.

Visitation is from 4:30 to 7 p.m. today (Monday, Dec. 14, 2009) at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Vera was born on May 8, 1935, at Little Cedar, Iowa, the daughter of Merril and Ruth (Sanders) Loney.

She was a beloved mother, who spent many years living and working on the farm, raising her children, and then spent many years at the Mitchell County Care Facility. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.

Survivors include two sons, Tom (Robbin) Boerjan of Rock Falls, Illinois, Edd (Shauna) Boerjan of Roanoke, Indiana; three daughters, Deb (Dennis) Smith of Paton, Beck Boerjan (Debbie Mabon) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dee Ann (Frank) Gamel of Hamburg, N.Y.; sister, Sharon (Fred) Cook of The Villages, Fla; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dean Loney; and nephew, Dan Loney.
