Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, May 11, 1988 at St. Mel’s Catholic Church, McIntire, for Rose Boehmer, 71, of McIntire. The Reverend Carl Manternach will officiate with burial in Calvery Cemetery, Elma. She died Sunday, May 8, 1988 at a Riceville nursing home.

Her parents, one brother and one son preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Art of McIntire; one daughter, Mrs. Darrell (Lois) Duryee of McIntire; one son, James of Elmwood, Illinois; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Celia Erion of Stockton, California, and Cora Klemas of Mason City.

Services Held For Rose I. Boehmer

A Mass of the Resurrection was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 1988 in St. Mel's Catholic Church in McIntire for Rose I. Boehmer of McIntire, who passed away on Sunday, May 8 in the Riceville Community Rest Home. Officiant was Rev. Carl Manternach.

She was born July 4, 1916, the daughter of Charles and Dessie (Carter) Conklin. She came to this region 30 years ago, having formerly lived in Alta Vista. She attended McIntire Schools.

On January 6, 1936, she was united in marriage to Arthur Boehmer at Lourdes, Iowa. To this union three children were born.

She was a member of St. Mel's Catholic Church and St. Mel's Altar Society.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur, McIntire; one son, James, Elmwood, Illinois; one daughter, Lois (Mrs. Darrell) Duryee, McIntire; two sisters, Mrs. Celia Erion, Stockton, California and Mrs. Cora Klemas, Mason City, Iowa; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, and a brother, Charles Conklin.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Elma, Iowa with the Conway Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
