Charles Baethke

Funeral services were held Monday, June 20, 1988 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Riceville, for Charles Baethke, 94 of Riceville. The Reverend Robert Pfeil officiated and burial was in Saratoga Cemetery. He died Thursday, June 16, 1988 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage , of narutal causes.

Mr. Baethke was born in Germany on January 22, 1894 to Carl and Minnie (Timmerman) Baethke. He came to Iowa with his parents at the age of 6.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; one daughter; and three borthers.

Survivors include his wife, Amanda of Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Elma; two sons, Orville of Elma and Wilfred of Hudson; 14 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren
