Funeral services were held at the Osage Lutheran church Tuesday, January 2,1950, for Lauritz Alfred Ask, 75, who died at his home in Mason City Saturday following a heart attack. The Rev. T.P. Solem conducted the service. Interment was at the First Lutheran cemetery.
Lauritz Alfred Ask was born July 7, 1875, in Fillmore county, Minn., to Ole and Olava Blagsveldt Ask. When a small child, he moved with his parents to Mitchell county where they settled on a farm in Cedar township. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in the Rock Creek church near Osage.
January 22, 1903, he was united in marriage to Bertha Olava Gaarder at Albany, Wis. They established their home on a farm in Rock township of Mitchell county. He was a carpenter by trade. Recently he had made his home at Mason City, moving there from Austin a few years ago.
Surviving are his wife; a brother, W.B. Ask of Osage; four sister, Mrs. Mathilda Nelson of Nora Springs, Mrs. Iver Rossum of Osage, Mrs. T. Synsby of Mitchell and Mrs. C.O. Blagsveldt of Lanesboro, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Rudolph, a sister, Mrs. Carl Haugen and a sister who died in infancy.
