OBITUARY: John J. Brandt, 1911-1996

OSAGE, IOWA--John J. Brandt, 85, of rural Osage, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 1996, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa, with the Rev. Chris Gugel, officiating. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.

John J. Brandt was born March 30, 1911, in South St. Paul, Minnesota.

Survivors include his wife, Antonia Brandt, of Osage; three daughters, Phyllis Sobek, of Klemme, Dorothy Weldon, of Denver, Colo., and Jane Watson, of Kasson, Minn.; one son, Alan Brandt, of Osage; nine grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Brandt, of Osage, and Walter Brandt, of Austin, Minn.

He was preceded in death by parents, one sister and five brothers.
