Hans Anderson was born in Langeland, Denmark, August 26, 1842, and came to America in the spring of 1869. He stopped for two years in Wisconsin and then traveled in the West for several years, finally settling in Worth Co., Iowa in 1880.

He was married to Anna Robertson in 1882. To them 10 children were born, all of whom survive him. He moved with his family to Detroit, Mn. in the fall of 1902 and died at that place March 2, 1904 after 5 months of severe sickness. He was a hard-working, honest and upright man, esteemed by all who knew him.

The funeral service was held in the Deer Creek church on March 8, conducted by Rev. Waldeland. The body was laid to rest in Deer Creek cemetery.
