OSAGE, IOWA - Marion Larson, 83, of Osage, died Thursday (July 19, 2001) at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage. Marion was born Sept. 11, 1917, in Adams, Minn., to Roy and Clara (King) Baldner. She graduated from Austin High School.

Marion was united in marriage to Lynn "Bud" Larson on Oct. 7, 1939, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Austin, Minn. After Bud's military service they located in Osage. She was employed as a clerk at Montgomery Wards and Sears. She was Deputy County Auditor in Mitchell County for years.

Marion was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aide. She was also a member of the Osage American Legion Auxiliary.

Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, with the Rev. Denny Hanson officiating. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage and one hour before services at the church.

She is survived by her husband, Lynn "Bud" Larson; two daughters, Barbara Brooker and her husband, Alan, of Eagan, Minn., and their children, Carrie and Jeffrey Brooker; and Beverly Larson of Mason City and her children, Mikan and Lyndsay Walrod; seven sisters, Marcella Meeker and her husband, Myron, of Austin, Minn., Dorothy Swenson, of Austin, Minn., Shirley Wherry and her husband, Darrell "Mick" of Osage, Darlene Trimble and her husband, Harold, of Austin, Minn., Janice Christiansen and her husband, Jim, of Austin, Minn., and Diane Haseth and Jewell Weeks, both of Austin, Minn.; and two brothers, Donald Baldner, of Lubbock, Texas, and John Baldner and his wife, Linda, of Tempe, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Carol.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 23, 2001 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Osage, for Marion Larson, age 83, of Osage. Reverend Dennis Hanson officiated, Interment was in the Osage Cemetery.
