Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Harcourt, 89, who died on Tuesday, December 21, 1965 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, were held Thursday, December 23 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock township, with the Rev. Elmer Jacobs officiating.
Margaret (Dreher) Harcourt was born January 23, 1876 in Floyd county, the daughter of Rheinold and Emma (Miller) Dreher. The family moved to Newburg township, and she was baptized into the Lutheran faith at St. John's by the Rev. Zeilinger. She was a charter member of the ALCW.
In October of 1894, she was married to William Feldt. Five sons and four daughters were born to this union. They moved to the Feldt farm where she spent her entire life, making her home with her son, Willard and family, the last years. Mr. Feldt died March 25, 1916. She was left alone with her family of nine children, but stayed on the farm. She married Charles Harcourt in March of 1918.
Mrs. Harcourt was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Mable, and son, Lawrence, five sisters and six brothers. She is survived by her children: Mrs. A.H. (Hattie) Zimmerman of Randall, Minnesota, Alvin of Cloverton, Minnesota, Clarence of Elkland, Missouri, Mrs. Kenneth (Alice) Heard of Buffalo, Missouri, Mrs. Nuel (Laura) Culbertson of Chicago, Illinois, Edward of St. Ansgar and Willard of rural Mitchell; also 26 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Burial was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery with Rev. Jacobs in charge of the committal services. Bearers were Roy Rachut, Edwin Steinberg, Edwin Jordan, Roland Eske, LaVern Wilde, and Joseph Beyer. Schroeder and Houg Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements.
