W. Redeker Funeral to be Saturday
William C. Redeker, 76, retired employee of the Standard Oil Company, died Thursday evening in a Mason City hospital. He had lived in Mason City 50 years, and made his home at 682 3rd SE. (Dec. 16, 1965)
Mr. Redeker was born Dec. 8, 1889 in Cook County, Ill., son of Henry F. and Wilhemina (Gillerman) Redeker. He attended country schools in Cook county and later lived on a farm in Mitchell County until moving to Mason City 19 1915.
He was married to Pauline , Oct. 26, 1915, at St. Ansgar.
During his early years in Mason City, he was in the construction trade. He worked in the construction department of Standard Oil Company 28 years before his retirement in 1954.
Mr. Redeker was a member of St. James Lutheran Church of Mason City.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Verne A. Redeker, Owatonna, Minn., four grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Redeker, Manly, and John Redeker, Mason City. He was preceded in death by a brother, Herman, Manly, and a sister, Mrs. Adam (Emma) Hentges, St. Paul.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. James Lutheran Church. The Rev. Donald Loots will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Part Cemetery. The family prefers that any memorials be given to St. James Lutheran Church.
The Major-Erickson Funeral Home is charge of arrangements.
