Funeral services for Lorenz J. Bartz, 75, who died in Tama December 21, were held December 24 at the Schroeder & Dunn Funeral Home here with the Rev. David Ide officiating.

Lorenz John Bartz was born in Newburg Township, Mitchell county August 13, 1901, the son of Otto and Amelia (Rachut) Bartz. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran church, Rock township.

At the age of one year, he moved with his parents to a farm in Worth county. He was confirmed at the age of 16 at the Emmanuel Lutheran church in Grafton by the Rev. John Landdeck. He resided on the farm with his parents until their deaths. Mr. Bartz spent the remaining years of his life at the Toledo Nursing Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. George Borchardt of Osage and Mrs. Hilda Dietrich of Grafton; three brothers, Ervin of Grafton, Arthur of Osage and Harvey of Kensett; also nieces, nephews and many friends.

Burial was in the St. Ansgar cemetery with Rev. Ide in charge of committal services.
