Marie Moe Oppedal
Marie Moe Oppedal was born in Cedar Township, Mitchell County, Iowa on January 19, 1877, to Ole Olsen and Guri Maafaa Grov Moe. She was baptized and confirmed in the Rock Creek Lutheran Church and has always been an interested and active member. She received her secular education in the rural schools of this community and also in the Cedar Valley Seminary at Osage, Iowa.
On April 7th of this year she entered into Holy matrimony with Lars J. Oppedal of this community, and after her marriage she continued to love at her native place, the old Moe homestead, until the time of her death.
The departed sister had been enjoying good health until about six weeks ago. During this time she has been confined to her bed and suffered a great deal, but being fully resigned to her lot, she bore her sufferings with Christian patience and hope. She died December 22, 1931. The cause of her death was diabetes and other complications.
The only near relatives surviving besides her husband is one brother, George Moe, and one sister, Mrs. Martin (Gunhild) Field, both of this community. Besides these, there are many nieces and nephews to mourn the loss of their relative and friend.
Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers: Ole, Gilbert, and Martin; and two sisters, Oline (Lena) and Karine (Kari).
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. O.C. Myhre at the Rock Creek Lutheran church, December 20th and interment was in the Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery.

NOTE: the surname was spelled OPPEDAHL in the #2 obituary, but in the cemetery listing and obituary #1 spelled OPPEDAL. Also, #1 and the cemetery listing had her given name as Marie, so it might be concluded that her proper name is Marie Oppedal.
