Joseph Peterman, 85, died al 9:10 a.m. Friday at the home of a son, Frank Peterman, Blairs Ferry road NE. Born in Czechoslovakia on January 25, 1869, he farmed many years in the St. Ansgar vicinity, retiring 25 years ago.
Surviving, besides a son Frank, are another son, Louis of Hartford. Wisconsin; two daughters, Mrs. William Suchy of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Josephine Sparks of St. Ansgar; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted in the Catholic church at St. Ansgar Monday. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar cemetery. Friends may call at the Janeba funeral home from 7 P.M. until 9 P.M. Saturday.
The body will be taken to St. Ansgar late Saturday evening.

Czechoslovakia on January 25, 1869. He came to America at the age of 14, and had lived in and around St. Ansgar nearly all the time:He died at the home of his son, Frank, in Cedar Rapids, January 7, from a heart attack. He was in failing health the past two years.
He and his wife celebrated their golden anniversary in 1942; she died in 1944.
He leaves four children: Mrs. William Suchy, of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. Josie Sparks, St. Ansgar; Frank, Cedar Rapids, and Lewis, Juneau, Wis.; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren
