MRS. STACY OF OSAGE IS BURIED

Funeral Rites Are Held for
One of First Students at Seminary.

OSAGE, IOWA - Dec. 26, 1934 — Funeral services for Mrs. Edward W. Stacy, 81, who died late Saturday, were held at Shelledy funeral home Monday, conducted by the Rev. Stiles Lessly.

Mrs. Stacy was born April 24, 1858, at Dover, Illinois, coming with her parents to Mitchell county three years later. She spent her girlhood at Mitchell and Stacyville.

She was one of the first students in Cedar Valley Seminary, when sessions were held at the courthouse and was a charter member of Osage Congregational church, which was founded two years after her coming to Osage.

She was married in 1872; her husband preceding her in death in 1928.

Mrs. Stacy was city librarian for nine years, and was active in social and church work. She is survived by a brother, Asa I. Stacy of Osage, sisters, Delia 0. and Frances Stacy of Osage, and a sister, Mrs. Harriet Reeves of Willmar, Minnesota.
