Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, August 28, 1985, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansagar, for Shirley Boerjan, 40, of Mountainburg, Arkansas. She died on Saturday, August 24, 1985 at a Fort Smith, Arkansas. hospital. The Rev. Norman Betke will officiate and burial will be in the St. Ansgar City Cemetery.
Mrs. Boerjan was born on January 13, 1945 at Northwood, to Earl and Evelyn (Walswick) Luther.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry; one daughter, Donna at home; two sons, Ricki of Alma, Arkansas and Rodney of Millington, Tennessee; her mother, Evelyn Stromley of Kensett; one sister, Betty Severson of St. Ansgar; four brothers, Larry and Gary Luther of Kensett, Dennis Luther of Joice, and Roger Luther of Rock Falls; and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father.

Mrs. Jerry Boerjan Funeral Held At Immanuel Lutheran
Funeral services for Mrs. Jerry Boerjan, 40 of Mountainberg, Arkansas, and formerly of St. Ansgar, who died August 24, 1985 at Fort Smith, Arkansas Hospital, were held August 28 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church here with the Reverend Norman E. Betke officiating.
Shirley Jean Luther Boerjan was born January 12, 1945, the daughter of the late Mr. Earl Luther and Evelyn (Walswick) Luther. She was baptized at Deere Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, by the Reverend Olaf A. Langehough. She attended schools in Carpenter and St. Ansgar.
January 19, 1963 she married Jerry (Butch) Boerjan at the Immanuel Lutheran Church here with the Reverend Carl T. Wuerffel officiating. Three children were born to them. Mrs. Boerjan was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church on March 1, 1964 by Reverend Wuerffel.
The Boerjans made their home in the St. Ansgar until four years ago in August when they moved to Mountainberg, Arkansas. During this time they owned and operated Butch’s Lounge in Carpenter. After moving to Arkansas, Mrs. Boerjan worked at the Ozark Truck Plaza in Alma as assistant manager until the time of her Illness.
Mrs. Boerjan is survived by her husband, Jerry of Mountainberg, Arkansas, Two sons, Ricky of Alma, Arkansas and Rodney of Memphis, Tennessee, and one daughter, Donna at home; her mother, Evelyn and stepfather, Orville Stromley of Kensett; one sister, Betty Severson of St. Ansgar; four brothers, Larry of Kensett, Dennis of Joice; Roger of Rock Falls, and Gary of Kensett; one granddaughter, Tarra Boerjan of Alma, Arkansas; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl, and a sister, Donna.
Burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery with Reverend Betke in charge of committal services.
