Harvey Fuller was born at Rigsburg, near Madison, Wis., Feb. 13, 1855. Here he grew to manhood and on Aug. 13, 1876, he was united in marriage to Margaret McElroy, also of that place. Immediately after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Fuller, together with Mr. Fuller's parents journeyed westwards in an emigrant wagon in search of a new home across the Mississippi, where land was cheap and plentiful and located in the vicinity of Riceville.

This country at that time was mostly prairie, with very few settlers, therefore Mr. Fuller was numbered among the early residents of this place. For a few years he and his father rented different farms, but in 1887 they bough a farm about five miles northwest of Riceville where Mr. Fuller lived continuously for about thirty-two years.

To Mr. and Mrs. Fuller were born three children; June of Clarissa, Minnesota; Frank of Sturgis N. Dakota; and Ruth, now Mrs. Howard McInroy of McIntire.

February 2, 1897, when Ruth was only a year old her mother died leaving her for a grandmother to care for. In the year 1899 Mr. Fuller was again united in marriage this time to Mrs. Frances Lee Morris. To this union was born one son, George B. Fuller, who is now with the US Marines.

Last fall because of poor health, Mr. Fuller sold the farm, which had been his home for so many year and he and Mrs. Fuller moved to Osage to live their declining years. Early this spring his health began to fail rapidly and for four months he was confined to the house and half of this time to his bed His son, George was summoned and was granted a furlough. For more than thirty days he was allowed to remain with his parents and help care for his father. June, the oldest son has also been with his father for twelve weeks and he and the patient and faithful wife have watched by the bedside constantly day and night to give what little relief they could to the sufferer. Saturday, July 17, he passed from this life at the age of 65 years, 5 months and 6 days.
