Julius Kruger, 79, died Tuesday at the hospital in Riceville. A retired farmer, he resided at Riceville.
Surviving are his widow, Jennie; two daughters, Mrs. Lester Buchholz, Riceville, and Mrs. Wallace Roethler, Waukon, Iowa; two sons, Robert and Marvin of Riceville; a sister, Mrs. Eliza Worple, Elma, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at Riceville.

Riceville – Julius Phillip Kruger, 79, died Tuesday at the Riceville Hospital. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church here. The Rev. Walter Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Chisholm Funeral Home in charge.
Born February 18, 1884, he was the son of William and Henrietta Kruger. He farmed until retiring to Riceville.
Surviving are his wife, Jennie; two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Evelyn) Buchholz, Riceville; Mrs. Wallace (June) Roethler, Waukon; two sons, Robert and Marvin, Riceville; a sister, Mrs. Eliza Worple, Elma; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Christian burial was given to Julius Philip Kruger on Thursday, May 23, 1963.
Julius Philip Kruger, the son of William Kruger and wife, Henrietta, nee Lebow, was born near Riceville on February 18, 1884 and confirmed June 6, 1897. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
On March 14, 1905, he married Jennie Vollbrecht. This union was blessed with four children: Robert, Marvin, Evelyn (Mrs. Lester Buchholz) all of Riceville, and June (Mrs. Walter Roethler) of Waukon.
He passed away in the Riceville Hospital on Tuesday, May 21, 1963, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 3 days.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, William, Fred, Edward, Chris, Henry, Louie and Benjamin and by his sister Mary (Mrs. Ephraim Reckner) and Alvina (Mrs. Charles Hoeft).
He is survived by his wife, Jennie, and the above mentioned children; by his sister Eliza (Mrs. William Worple) of Elma, 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
