MRS. A, MATHER DIES AFTER FALL

Funeral Services to Be Held
at St. Ansgar Methodist
Church Tuesday.

Mrs. Agnes Mather, 74, died at a Mason City hospital about 7:30 o'clock Sunday evening following an illness which started Jan. 18, when she fell in her room as she was getting up and broke her left hip. She had been confined at the hospital since that time. The cast had been removed 10 days ago and for the past few days the family had hopes of her recovery. Mrs. Mather had been apparently in good health Sunday.

Funeral services will be held at St. Ansgar, the family home, on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church. The Rev. William Galbreth of the Olivet M. E. Church of Mason City will give the sermon. He will be assisted in the services by the Rev. M. W. McKinley of St. Ansgar.

Burial will be at St. Ansgar by the grave of her husband and only son, Harley H.

Mrs. Mather was preceded in death by her husband, on August 3, 1919, at St. Ansgar, and by her son, on July 13, 1909, who drowned at the age of 11 years, at St. Ansgar.

Mrs. Mather was born April 25, 1861, in Minnesota, the daughter of G.M. and Mary E. Henton. She was married to G. C. Mather about 50 years ago. Since the death of her husband Mrs. Mather, had made her home among her children.

Mrs. Mather formerly lived in Mason City, where her husband operated the Gilbertson nursery for several years. The family moved from here 21 years ago.

Surviving Mrs. Mather are five daughters: Mrs. H. L. McCulla, 220 Seventh street northeast, and Mrs. Jesse A. Price, 1020 Delaware Avenue northeast, Mrs. E. A. Rice, Cedar Rapids, Mrs. C. S. Sampson, San Pedro, Cal., and Mrs. C. B. Wegman, Portland, Ore.; by three sisters: Mrs. Jennie Mickelson, Elk River, Minn., and Mrs. C. D. Hayes and Mrs. E. G. Deane, St. Petersburg, Fla., and grandchildren: Clifford, Robert, Jean and Mary Lou Rice of Cedar Rapids, and Richard, Kay, Jean and Janet Price of Mason City.

Mrs. Sampson will be unable to attend the funeral, Mrs. Wegman arrived two weeks ago from Portland. The body will lie in state at the Randall funeral home until Tuesday when it will be taken to St. Ansgar for the services.
